What is going on????

Wow what a week it has been in the South Pacific, 6 now 7 magnitude 6 + earth quakes in as many weeks. What is going on? Could this be the affect of global warming or a preview of events to come? Maybe these events are ramping up due to the events that are going to unfold in 2012?
